What is coworking?

Coworking is defined as individuals and companies engaging in different and independent activities but under the same roof. The Women’s Small Business Accelerator’s coworking space includes separate office suites and cubicles available to rent. This shared office space allows businesses to have the offices they desperately need, but not the overhead they usually can't afford.

What kind of office space is available?

We offer several different types of office suites to women business owners. View our available spaces.

Do I have to rent an office to be in the education program?

The WSBA coworking space and educational programs are separate benefits. You do not need to rent an office to be a participant in the accelerator programs, and you do not need to become an accelerator participant in order to rent office space. However, there are some benefits and discounts afforded to businesses that take advantage of both programs.

What is the difference between the educational programs and Power Circles?

The Education Programs are comprehensive, highly structured programs that dive deeper into a specific curriculum than Power Circle. Specifically, the Education Programs follow a customized workbook developed specifically for the corresponding stage of your business, includes guest lecturers who will participate in helping participants develop key deliverables, and requires an intensive weekly commitment for 6 months. Our Power Circles still offer great guest speakers and information, but they are designed to be less structured in their setting and more flexible in their content.

Who can participate in the educational programs?

Any woman business owner is eligible! Our education programs are open to women business owners or, in the case of The Inspired program, women who have a business idea and need help exploring and formalizing their concept.

How would I benefit from these programs?

There are 3 levels of Education Programs: The Inspired, The Determined, and The Empowered. Each program is dedicated to assisting women business owners create, finalize, or revamp necessary plans to develop and implement a successful business strategy. The Inspired program is designed to help women business owners who are in the startup phase. The Determined is geared to women who have launched, but they simply need to revisit and readjust their plans for the realities of their businesses and their markets. The Empowered program is for those women who desire to position their business to break the $1 million level. Regardless of which program level you choose, you will graduate with specific deliverables that will assist you in advancing your business’s particular objectives and setting you up to apply for funding.

The programs sound intense. What if I can't commit to every week?

The good news is that you are only in class for one day per month. On the weeks in between, we will meet via telephone and record our meetings. The telephone touch-base meetings allow us to ensure everyone is on track with completing their work, can ask questions, and stay focused on their goals. We have found that committing to an intensive education program generally increases the commitment and success of a new business owner.

What types of business owners will be in each class?

Each class is limited to 10 women business owners. The types of businesses will vary. While we do our best to ensure that we don’t overload any class with too many similar businesses, we are committed to serving individual business owner's needs. We will ask that each participant sign a non-disclosure as part of the application process prior to beginning a program.

What is a Power Circle?

A Power Circle is a formalized meeting of peers focused on sharing knowledge, ideas, and challenges faced in the development and management of a small business. Power Circle members share in a supportive and respectful manner and are led by a facilitator who manages the flow of the meeting and guides the roundtable members for ultimate learning and idea sharing.
